This 1930s gown would be a lovely wedding dress for fans of this decade, or perfect for anyone after an eye-catching gown for an upcoming event. It is crafted from white satin and falls to ankle length. The bias-cut creates a timeless, body-skimming ’30s silhouette that is supremely flattering. The body of the dress is detailed with top stiched seams which follow the lines of the bust and the hips. At the collar is an elegantly draped cowl-neck, a shape that was popular during this era after it was introduced by French designer Madeleine Vionnet. The sleeves are tailored to a voluminous bell-sleeve style with a gathered cuff anchoring the shape. This dress is unlined.

This piece is nearly a century old and is in very fair to good antique condition. It is wearable and structurally very sound. It has been restored back to a soft and bright white although the satin has a slight two-tone finish in places. This has caused variations to the fabric which look like creasing and abrasions in certain lights. There are some slight pink stains inside the collar which are not at all visible when worn. Due to its age, it has no composition or size labels so please double-check our measurements below. We believe it would best fit a size UK 6, US 2 and someone under 5'5" or 167cm. The fabric has no stretch.
