Original pencil drawing of a Passionfruit Flower. This drawing is from the 100 Days of Flowers projected completed in 2015.
In the 16th century, it was believed that the passionfruit flower symbolised the death of Christ; the five petals represented the disciples, the corona symbolises the crown of thorns around Christ's head, and other features were a symbol of the wounds, nails and whips used on Christ.
This is an original drawing created with Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils on 250gsm bristol artist paper.
