At the same time, the bit plates provide lateral guidance and stabilize the position of the bit in the horse's mouth, offering slight lateral influence that can particularly support young horses in bending and turns.

The Silver Wings Elevator Bit is used with elevator cheeks, which pass through the bit rings and have a ring at the bottom. Elevator bits can be used with one or two reins. When the rein is engaged, the pressure on the poll is increased, the bit tilts in the mouth, and is lifted upwards, thereby increasing the pressure on the horse's tongue and bars.
