The bodhi seed is a very special kind of mala for Buddhists, as it was under the bodhi tree that the Buddha attained enlightenment, Bodhi seeds in the malas are usually used without being polished so they have small ridges or veins showing. It can be used to help bring a sense of peace and wisdom and aid in your mindfulness practice to enhance your awareness in your spiritual journey. Traditionally a Buddhist rosary or mala of 108 even-sized beads is used for mantra recitation.
