Bring Home a Little Piece of Buttery Perfection
A tribute to my love for croissants, this art print captures the rich, flaky layers of everyone’s favourite pastry. Originally drawn with pastels and coloured pencils, this piece was both a challenge and a personal triumph. Croissants have always felt intimidating to draw. the endless folds, the golden crispiness, but this year, I’ve embraced growth and experimentation. There were moments I nearly gave up, but I’m so glad I pushed through.
Fun fact, despite being a French staple, croissants actually originated in Austria. The first version, called the “kipferl,” inspired the iconic French pastry we know today.
Perfect for fellow pastry lovers, kitchen décor, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of a well-baked treat.
Originally created with pastels and coloured pencils, available as a fine art print, the original also available for sale here.
Drawn in 2025, and signed by the artist, Carmen Hui.
