This system uses a capacitive discharge (CD Fixed) coil and does not require battery voltage to work. You will notice only 1 terminal connection on module. This terminal is the kill wire which grounds out the spark. Ignition timing and spark remains constant regardless of engine speed. Timing of spark is controlled by location of flywheel magnet group as referenced to engine Top DeadCenter (TDC). Module Air Gap 0.28/0.33 mm (0.011/0.013 in.)

A typical fixed ignition system consists of:

• 1 magnet assembly which is permanently affixed to flywheel.

• 2 electronic capacitive-discharge ignition modules which mount on engine crankcase.

• 1 kill switch (or key switch) which grounds modules to stop engine.
